Authors can seem like far away, mythic people. When I imagine an author at work, I picture her sitting at her desk in a dark room with only a desk lamp to cast light on the novel she is penning. It's probably overly romantic, but I like the idea of it.

Even the candles cried tears of wax at Saturday night's first Mothers Against Driving Drunk candlelight vigil. The 50 people who attended were there to honor and remember family members and friends who had been killed in drunken driver-related crashes.
