A 20th century movement in poetry advocating free verse, new rhythmic effects, colloquial language, and the expression of ideas and emotions, with clear, well-defined images, rather than through romanticism or symbolism.

  • Blast: Blast was a modernist publication. Founded by Wyndham Lewis with Ezra Pound, it ran for 2 issues, published in 1914 and 1915. Its purpose was to promote a new movement in literature and visual art, christened Vorticism. Vorticism was like Futurism.
